When love blooms, so do the flowers — and Laura and Jake’s intimate wedding at No.1 GuestHouse York was a perfect blend of romance, style, and a whole lot of floral magic.
In September 2024, we had the absolute pleasure of creating a Bridgerton inspired floral dream for our Wild Floral Couture bride, Laura. She asked us to design an elegant array of pink florals to dress the table for their intimate afternoon tea wedding breakfast — a celebration with just 10 of their closest family members following their register office ceremony in York.
Laura’s vision was crystal clear: luxurious pink hues, with a modern, stylish twist. We curated a delicate combination of blush roses, dreamy peonies, and show-stopping hydrangeas, with pops of hot pink and deep red to add that extra flair. Tapered candles in rich berry shades flickered among the blooms, creating a magical tablescape that wouldn’t have looked out of place at a Bridgerton ball. It was romance, redefined.
Set against the sophisticated backdrop of No.1 GuestHouse York’s stunning private dining room, the floral design added an air of subtle grandeur — elegant yet understated, intimate yet impactful. The warm glow of candlelight bouncing off the delicate petals made the whole setup feel like something out of a period drama.
But let’s not forget the couple of the hour! Laura and Jake didn’t just bring the romance — they brought the style too. After their heartfelt “I dos,” the pair took to the cobbled streets of York for a chic city-centre photoshoot. Laura’s bridal look? Iconic. She rocked a short white wedding dress, cool sunglasses, and effortlessly glam hair — proving that bridal style doesn’t have to be traditional to be timeless. Jake looked equally sharp in his light blue suit, and together, they turned York’s historic charm into their own personal runway.
With their nearest and dearest by their side and a dreamy Santorini wedding on the horizon, Laura and Jake’s day was a beautiful reminder that love isn’t about the size of the guest list — it’s about the moments, the details, and the memories made.
